The Unhoused
The number of people experiencing homelessness has been steadily growing over the past 40 years. Serving this community requires understanding who they are, what they need, and the challenges they face.
MCM currently has three active programs:
Two Outreach Teams that go out every Sunday afternoon:
1-An SNU student team visits individuals experiencing homelessness downtown
2-A NW team works with a community of unhoused near NW Expressway and Meridian
3-Our Partnership with the Key to Home Rehousing Initiative Street Outreach team provides vital supplies to the team that works with individuals in NW OKC
MCM does more than provide food and essential items; our volunteers treat each person they encounter with respect, dignity and friendship. Building relationships with people, and their pets, goes a long way.
