Vision
The Micah Community Movement is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to training and equipping people to provide emergency assistance and emotional support to the elderly, and unsheltered in the greater Oklahoma City area.
Our History
On November 15, 2022, five students from SNU were joined by Doug Forsberg, Melany Kyzer, Doug Samples, Chad Penner, Tabitha Pope, Don Dunnington, and Marc Hernandez to form an urban student ministry and 501c3 dedicated to serving those on the outskirts of society, particularly the unsheltered and elderly. Micah Tents and the Gathering were launched. Dozens of students have participated.
In December 2023, MCM transitioned from SNU as it’s home base, to OKC 1st Nazarene. ‘Prof Doug’ retired, but he continues the work as Pastor Doug, training SNU students and the church for ministry to the unsheltered. The new Board led by OKC 1st laypeople continues to organize and guide an expanding ministry.
