About Micah Community Movement

Mission

Micah Community Movement exists to support those on the margins, particularly the unhoused and elderly. Motivated by God’s love, we provide tangible resources and friendship to our neighbors. And we welcome and empower the next generations to serve in this mission.

Vision

We envision a stronger and more hopeful OKC community where all people are valued, supported, and participating.

Guiding Posture

Our guiding posture is Micah 6:8, “Act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly.”

Our History

In November 2022, Rev Doug Forsberg, five students, and eight faculty from Southern Nazarene University formed an urban student ministry and 501c3 named Micah Community Movement. An SNU Leadership team and The Gathering were launched, and dozens of students have participated.

In December 2023, MCM transitioned from SNU as it’s home base, to OKC First Nazarene. He may have retired as ‘Prof Doug’ and ‘Founding President,’ but his work continues as Pastor Doug. The new Board led by OKC First laypeople continues to organize and guide an expanding ministry.
